Silent doesn't always mean stuck
DNO applications spend most of their life waiting on the DNO's design engineer. Long quiet periods, especially at With DNO Engineer, are normal and don't mean anything has gone wrong.
Each DNO has its own review windows and current backlog, so we can't quote specific timescales here. If you want a rough steer for a particular job, ask us on the application thread.
What we do in the background
Even when the status looks unchanged, our team chases the DNO on our standard cadence for the stage the application is at. You can see the last chase date on the application detail page.
When to flag it to us
- Submitted but no reference number after what feels like an unusually long wait
- Awaiting Payment for more than a couple of working days after you paid
- Any status where the customer's install date is now genuinely at risk
In those cases, contact us or leave a comment on the application and we'll take a look and escalate if it warrants it.
What you can do
Honestly, not much. Chasing the DNO more often doesn't speed them up, and can damage the relationship we rely on. Let us handle the cadence and we'll flag anything that needs attention.
