Why the DNO

Heat pumps are a Low Carbon Technology connection.

Under the ENA's LCT process, every heat pump installation needs to be either notified or formally applied for. Which route depends on the equipment, the supply and the local network.

It's an additional demand

Heat pumps add continuous electrical load. The DNO needs to know the local network can support it.
