Four routes. One is right for your project.
It comes down to inverter rating per phase, total generation on site and how much you need to export.
G98
Small inverter systems up to 16A per phase. Installed first, then notified to the DNO within 28 days.
G98 notificationsG99
Anything over 16A per phase, or multiple G98 units on one site. Needs DNO approval before installation.
Formal applicationG100
Where the network can't take full export, a G100 compliant export limitation scheme keeps the project viable.
Battery & G100Full connection application
Commercial and utility scale projects that need a formal connection offer and possibly reinforcement.
Commercial & utilityHow we decide
What we check before recommending a route
- 01
Existing supply
Phase, cut-out rating, MPAN and anything already generating on site.
- 02
Proposed equipment
Inverter ratings per phase, battery, EV and heat pump loads.
- 03
Export required
Whether full export is realistic or a G100 limit is the better option.
- 04
Recommended route
A clear recommendation so the formal application goes in right first time.
Strategy advice is free
Connection strategy is advisory and costs nothing. You only pay once we prepare and submit the formal application, priced by system size.
G99 application fee by system size

Large domestic solar, e.g. 8–12 kW
£225 + VAT
Commercial rooftop, small industrial
£545 + VAT

- Route recommendation (G98 / G99 / G100)
- Export limitation advice
- Existing equipment review
- No obligation
DNO fees are not included
Some DNOs charge their own assessment or connection fees. These are separate from our fee and we'll tell you where they apply.
Before we start
What we need from you
- MPAN and supply phase
- Photo of the cut-out
- Details of any existing generation
- Proposed equipment and kW
The final decision on the route always sits with the DNO. We make sure what they receive points to the right one.
