Site assessment to energisation

We manage your grid connection, not just the application.

Most projects don't fail at the form. They fail because nobody owned the connection from the first site assessment through to the day it energises. That's the part we do.

Seven Stages

The grid connection journey

Come to us at the beginning of a project and we can support you through the whole process. Or join us at whichever stage you're already at.

01Discover

Grid Connection Site Assessment

Before committing time or money to a site, we assess the likely connection options from the desk: proposed technology and capacity, existing supply, nearby network infrastructure, proximity to 11kV/33kV assets, potential Point of Connection options, known constraints and likely connection voltage.

A written Grid Connection Strategy setting out what we found, the likely route forward and what we recommend next.

02Assess

Budget Estimate

If the site looks worth progressing, we prepare and manage a Budget Estimate with the relevant DNO to establish the likely Point of Connection, connection voltage, indicative works, contestable and non-contestable costs and any requirements the DNO flags.

We don't forward the DNO letter. We interpret it and give you a plain-English Budget Estimate Summary, and a clear decision point.

03Apply

Formal Connection Application

We prepare the application and technical documentation, submit it to the DNO and manage the process on your behalf, including technical queries and ongoing DNO liaison, while the DNO carries out its detailed network assessment.

A formal Connection Offer setting out requirements, costs, programme and conditions.

04Secure

Connection Offer Review & Acceptance

A Connection Offer landing doesn't mean our job is done. We review it with you and explain what has been approved, what it costs, what reinforcement is required, what conditions apply, the timescales and what you need to do next.

For larger schemes this is also where ICP/IDNO procurement and connection-cost optimisation sit.

05Deliver

Connection Coordination

Once the offer is accepted, we can stay involved in the grid-connection elements: monitoring milestones and liaising between you, the installer or EPC, the ICP and the DNO.

We don't need to undertake the physical works to remain your grid connection manager.

06Commission

Commissioning & DNO Close-Out

Following installation we prepare and submit the required commissioning documentation, make sure the DNO has what it needs and progress the project through its close-out requirements.

G98, G99 and G100 documentation handled and confirmed.

07Energise

Energisation & Completion

The final stage is getting the connection through to energised and operational status, with the relevant connection records and documentation complete and stored in your portal.

From “I've found a potential site” to “my project is connected and operational.”

Grid Connection Site Assessment

A desktop assessment of your site's likely grid connection options, delivered as a written Grid Connection Strategy.

£195per site, excluding VAT
  • Review of proposed technology, capacity, import and export requirements
  • Existing electrical supply and site infrastructure review
  • Nearby network infrastructure, including 11kV/33kV substations and circuits
  • Potential Point of Connection options and approximate distances
  • Known or identifiable network constraints
  • Likely connection voltage and connection approach
  • A view on whether the proposed capacity looks realistic for the location

This is an early-stage desktop assessment based on network and site intelligence, designed to inform your next decision. It is not confirmation from the DNO that capacity is available, and no physical site attendance is included. Where a site visit is needed, our technical site surveys cover that separately.
