Why we don't quote fixed timescales
DNO turnaround times aren't something we control. Each of the six DNOs has its own review process and current workload, and the same DNO can be quick one month and backlogged the next.
We won't quote a specific number of days because we can't stand behind it, and neither can the DNO. If you need a rough steer for a particular job, ask us on the application thread and we'll tell you what we're currently seeing.
What makes an application faster
- A clean, complete submission with no missing information
- Clear, readable cut-out photos
- Inverter models on the form matching the SLD exactly
- Accepting a reasonable export limit upfront rather than negotiating
- Responding to RFIs quickly (we handle most, but occasionally we need something from you)
What makes it slower
- Missing MPAN, unsigned LOA, or an SLD that doesn't match the equipment list
- RFIs that take days to resolve because we're waiting on the customer
- Complex export studies triggered by high export ratings
- Commercial jobs that need a full network study or a connection offer
- DNO backlog at certain times of year
What we do
We chase the DNO on our standard cadence for the stage the application is at, respond to RFIs as fast as we can, and flag anything that looks off. You'll see the last chase date on your dashboard.
