Which DNO covers my postcode?

The UK is split between six DNO regions. Here is how to find out which one applies to your job.

Why it matters

Each DNO has:

  • Different application portals
  • Different pricing (some charge for G99 applications, some don't)
  • Different typical timelines
  • Different technical preferences (inverter brands, export limit rules)

Independent DNOs (IDNOs)

Some new-build sites are on IDNO networks (Energetics, GTC, ESP, etc.) rather than the main six. They typically follow the same G99 rules but application processes can vary.

[!INFO] If in doubt, send us the MPAN and postcode. Digits 14 and 15 of the MPAN tell us the DNO region.

Cross-region jobs

Rare but possible: for very large customers with sites in multiple DNO regions, you'd need one application per region. Each is treated independently.
