The exact document list depends on the application type and DNO. Here's the shape of what you'll typically need.
Almost always required
- Letter of Authority (LOA) — signed by the customer whose supply is being modified. See What is a Letter of Authority?
- Cut-out photograph — showing the incoming supply cut-out and main fuse rating. See What cut-out photo do you need?
- Site address and MPAN — the electricity supply number for the property. See Where do I find the MPAN?
- Inverter details — manufacturer, model, kW rating, type-test information. See What inverter information do you need?
Typically required for G99
- Single Line Diagram (SLD) — a schematic showing the electrical layout of the new system. See What is an SLD?. We can create one from your design if you don't have one.
- Solar / battery design PDF — the array layout, string configuration and battery arrangement.
- Export limitation details — if applicable, the make/model of the export limitation device and how it's configured.
For commercial and larger projects
- Site plan — showing the location of the connection point and any proposed equipment.
- Protection settings — for G99 projects that need them.
- Additional technical data as requested by the DNO after initial review.
What we can do if a document is missing
Start the application anyway. Our team will flag missing items in your portal so you can upload them, or we'll help you produce them (for example, we can generate an SLD from your design PDF). Don't wait until every document is perfect before starting.
