What is a Letter of Authority (LOA)?

The LOA gives us permission to submit on behalf of the customer. Every application needs one.

Why we need it

DNOs will only speak to the property owner or someone with written authority. A signed LOA lets us submit the application, chase the DNO, and receive the approval on the customer's behalf.

Who signs it

The property owner or occupier at the installation address. Not the installer.

How to get one

When you submit an application you can either:

  1. Upload your own signed LOA if the customer has already signed one.
  2. Ask us to generate one. We'll pre-fill it with the customer's details and email them a signing link.

Common problems

  • LOA signed by the installer, not the customer. This will get rejected.
  • LOA missing the customer's printed name or date. Both are required.
  • LOA for a different address than the installation. It must match exactly.
