The DNO wants enough inverter information to confirm the equipment is type-tested and compliant with G98 or G99.
What we need
For each inverter:
- Manufacturer
- Model
- Rated AC output (kW or kVA)
- Rated AC current per phase
- Type-test certificate confirming G98 or G99 compliance (either the certificate itself, or enough model information for us to locate it on the ENA type-test register)
For battery inverters (or hybrid units acting as battery inverters), we also need:
- Battery capacity (kWh)
- Battery inverter mode of operation (self-consumption, grid-tied only, backup, etc.)
Where to find it
- On the inverter's datasheet from the manufacturer's website.
- On the label on the side or underside of the unit itself (once installed).
- From your solar design software if it's already been specified.
A good datasheet PDF is worth more than a screenshot of one page.
What if my inverter isn't on the standard list?
If the inverter isn't on the ENA type-test register:
- Check with the manufacturer directly. Many have compliant models that aren't universally listed.
- If it genuinely isn't type-tested, the DNO will likely reject the application. Substituting a type-tested equivalent is usually the fastest fix.
